Small Steps You Can Take Daily To Prioritize Your Goals.

Setting goals is the foundation of success and our daily routines lay the groundwork for how we work towards achieving our goals. We often are told to have goals in life in order to be successful but not informed enough on how to accomplish them which at times can seem out of reach especially when we find ourselves revisiting the same goal(s) each year.

What may be holding you back from accomplishing your goals could just be some small steps you haven’t exactly taken yet. Sometimes we get so caught up in the idea of the goal being accomplished instead of taking the time out to get to the root of what we need to do in order to accomplish our goals. It is important to evaluate what we can change in our routine, habits, and environment that can help us get closer to where we want to be. Focusing on small shifts in your lifestyle on a daily basis can make a big difference.

Here are some small steps we suggest you can take each day that may help you get closer to your goals.

“If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”

  • First, get a planner. Have you ever heard of the quote “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”? Consider this when you look back on the things you haven’t given much of your energy to. If you didn’t plan then how will it be on your radar? Writing down your plans on a calendar and/or utilizing a to-do list is a great start to prioritizing better.

  • Wake up earlier. When life gets busy it feels like there isn’t enough time in the day which gives us little room to take on an extra task. Waking up earlier can give you more time even if it’s just to have some quiet time for yourself.

Tip: Use the Lemon Mint Body Butter after your shower in the morning to increase mental stimulation.

  • Get active. Go for a walk. Work out for 20-30 minutes. Keep your body moving throughout the day. Release those endorphins! Do what works for you, but make the time to do it. Think about how you want to feel and what energetic source you want to create from when you are working towards your goals.

  • Take breaks throughout the day. Burnout leads to a lack of motivation which makes it difficult to be inspired to work towards your goals. Be sure to take breaks throughout the day. All you need is a few minutes. Breathe, listen to music, journal, etc. Make your break intentional. Remember, breaks are productive too!

  • Less time on your phone. You can’t possibly apply the small steps if too much time on your phone is being prioritized. Our world is literally in the palm of our hands now. We use our phones for pretty much everything so we have to be disciplined enough to use them wisely. We suggest putting your phone in another room while you are working to help lessen the distraction.

  • Make sure you’re getting a full night’s rest. When we say full night’s rest we mean a peaceful, satisfying rest. Take a hot shower, drink water, detach from social media and turn off Netflix a few hours before bed. Challenge yourself to prioritize some quiet time before you go to sleep. This can change your sleep experience allowing you to wake up feeling restful, refreshed, and renewed having you ready to take on what you have planned for the next day.

Tip: Use the Vanilla Lavender Body Butter after your shower at night to increase relaxation.

  • Time yourself. We saved this one for last because considering your time should be applied to all of the suggestions above. Going back to that feeling of time running away from us, have you ever considered that you may be spending too much time on one thing? Allow yourself a window of time when you are working on a project, taking a break, etc. so that you aren’t spending too much time on one thing. Use the timer in the clock app on your phone.

Achieving our goals is a major receipt that the work we put in to get there was applied and successful. Taking small steps may seem so very simple but making an effort to apply them every day is where the real work takes place. Hold yourself accountable each month by honoring some of the routines we’ve listed here and be sure to tailor some routines of your own.
